Digging In and Building Up

In 2003, the area surrounding St. Anthony Hospital in Midtown Oklahoma City was in serious decline with numerous boarded up, dilapidated properties and unattractive streetscapes.  Clearly Midtown had seen better days.  As a result, St. Anthony leaders faced a difficult decision:  stay where our roots are firmly planted in Midtown, or move to another Oklahoma City location.  After collaboration with community and civic leaders, St. Anthony decided to stay and invest $220 million in its campus.  The synergy of that decision and the investment that followed resulted in a Midtown that is vibrant and alive–and what has been characterized as “One of Oklahoma City’s greatest success stories.”
